So one of my multisync monitors has decided to go a bit wonky on me.

At random times it'll seems to lose "sync" [best way I know how to explain it] on the horizontal and cause severe interlacing and ghosting, I thought maybe it was the cable but I tried another cable and it still does it. If I turn the monitor off for a few seconds and back on the issue is cleared up but it comes back eventually. What is causing this, whats the proper term and most importantly is this issue fixable?

It's a Samsung SyncMaster 750p monitor, i'd love to get this working right because the image quality on it is amazing when it's working properly. I've attached some images of the issue.

Thanks in advance. 😎

As usual with monitors - don't try to fix something internally unless you know what you're doing - or left them unconnected for a considerable time (like 2 weeks).

Usual suspect would be a flunky capacitor - certainly fixable but requires some basic knowledge of electronics and some gear for testing (ESR Meter, unsoldering equipment).

Awesome signature btw.
