Hi all,

I'm just announcing this little project for those whom might have those fantastic little piece of HW sound machines like Sound Canvas (and Yamaha too)...

Now you can have DIGITAL output in your SC/XG. Get 1:1 quality sound for the very first time ever:

I don't fully understand the target for the fundraiser (as you already have a prototype up & running - getting 2-3 batches of prototypes on proper PCBs certainly shouldn't cost more than $1000 (probably not even close to that) unless you're taking time off your day job which you'd need to have covered), but the project certainly looks interesting.
Prices for the perks seem mostly fair tho.

Pardon me, but what the fuck? That should be a fairly trivial thing to add.

Think somebody should and release instructions for free to undermine the greedy bastards who set this up.

Apparently, this is already built, so what is the kick starter for? It's not for development, so why not just sell boards like normal people?

I want to make more than 100 pcbs, this is why.

Nothing to do with greed.

There was a time around eight years back when I wanted to produce 200 ROM copiers for the Sega Genesis, so I did it out of my own pocket. I also had confidence in my product so I didn't go around e-begging.

Whatever, best of luck I guess, but don't be surprised if someone comes in and snipes it by throwing schematics online or else making boards themselves without the indiegogo page.

I'd say go the route HighTreason showed - offer the PCBs on a pre-paid basis (if you want to make it available as a finished product for the public) and set more realistic financial aims for the project.

While I've decided to accept donations for my ARGUS project myself, I set the initial goal to $300 (I started basically with a commercial product I had to fully reverse on a PCB level), which I overshot being able to offer the custom chip used on the card for free to all donors in return.

It will be fine by me.

There is a considerable R&E time and effort as well as buying the modules stuff to perform practical tests, adjustments, etc.

I'm not rich, if I were I would just starting to sell the boards on eBay.

I think moving the SC to digital would take the fun of using one, away.

Too niche to succeed IMO. Go small scale. I did a PCB project and it sparked another PCB that is cheaper. Not a big deal: some people prefer my PCB and I sold most already. But the point is: you do not want to build a huge batch and get stuck with it because someone else builds a cheaper version.
