Anyone know where to find the upgrade memory chips for this card?

It's currently 1MB, upgradeable to 2MB.

Those sockets take common 512KB DRAM chips. To be specific, they are 256Kx16 chips. If you search eBay for "4260 DRAM" or "512KB DRAM SOJ" you'll find them for sale.

For example, a quick search, I found this listing that's compatible with what you need:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEC-UPD42S4260LE-70-I … G-/201226211416

Here's another search I used:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=256kx16+ … 16+soj&_sacat=0

The importants things to look for are 256Kx16 (512KB total, sometimes referred to as a 4Meg [megabit] chip), SOJ-40 package, and 70 nanoseconds or faster in your case.

Awesome! Thanks. Does it matter if they say EDO or FP? I saw some 50ns EDO for around $1.50.

Don't do FPM or EDO. That's a different type of memory than plain DRAM.

I'm confused now. Your first link is to fast page DRAM. I got the impression there was FP DRAM and EDO DRAM--there's a third kind?

I'm sorry, that's my fault. I just meant to say that conventional DRAM, FPM, and EDO are all technically different. You have to match what you intend to buy with what the board calls for.

The chips on your card are Micron model MT4C16257 which are FPM-type chips in 70ns. The eBay links I searched for are indeed compatible.

Ah, ok. Thanks much for the replies. I think if I can get my VLB card up to 2MB, it should do very well at 1280x1024.
