I have a Diamond Speedstar Pro and the FCC ID says 5426 and the drivers say 5426/5428. I tried specifying the 5429 driver(both in 98 and 3.1) and it does not work but the chip installed on the board is a 5429.

They must be pin compatible and the improvements are in the chip, has anyone compared the two. Will I see the performance enhancements of the 5429 even if the driver is for the older model?

5428 is a refresh from the 5426.. 5429 is just a new chip. 5428 have some new features over the 5426.
