You have to mount the same way that you did to install. What game and what mountings have you used?

A game that I have never heard of before, but it helps if you list the entire contents of the autoexec section of the conf you are using. If the game is on a CD you will need to mount that as well as the installed folder.

The install message appears when it's not finding c:\meendata or c:\meendata\save. That usually happens only if the mounting that you used to install it is not the same one that you are using to play it.
As far as the black screen goes, let me guess - your copy was downloaded from somewhere?
If you can show me that you own the original, I can tell you what the problem is.

Many programs do not expect to be run from C:\, but only from a subfolder. Thus, if you have the game in C:\something\MEEN , you should mount c:\something as drive C and not c:\something\MEEN.

This seemed to work. Not getting sound though, ugh. The sound config (INSTALL.exe) closes before anything loads.
Usually the default settings in D-Fend work, so I guess there's something I'm not familiar with (I'm no expert).

Do you have a subfolder named "save", as Mr. Peterferrie suggests?

Also as previously suggested, if you downloaded this game from somewhere, then it could have been packaged incorrectly. That is why it is often futile trying to diagnose problems when people do not have the original disks.
