Is there a way to use Roland VSC midi synth with games in windows 98 S.E?

At first I thought I couldn't get it to work because I was using an AC'97 chip, so I got a yamaha 724 sv550 running fine with proper drivers but still without any success. 😢

Here's how I set up things :

In Multimedia properties

-Audio : Soundcard
-Midi : Roland VSC

In VSC Settings Window / Device

- DirectSound Off -> Soundcard

In Duke Nukem 3D sound setup / Music Card

-Sound Canvas / Midi Port 0x330

but no sound
