Greetings, folks! I have one of those Packard bell 486 Desktops with pb450pc motherboard with 4 isa slots riser. Now I have jumperless NE2000 compatible NIC (um9003af irq10 adress 300) and SB AWE32 PnP installed in it. I have connected it to the internet from Windows 3.11 FWG and it worked fine. But when i changed non pnp AWE32 ct2760 to pnp CT36...something else, windows 3.11 started freezing at start up screen 😵 . Still it runs fine with /n key. Everything works fine in win95. The problem seems to be in some resource conflict, but i can't figure out where exactly. Need some help, guys. From Russia with love 😀 ))

You can try some of the driver links here. Re: Need a NE2000 setup/config program
Once you find the correct driver disk there will be setup.exe or similar that will allow you to change the IRQ on the card.
Early windows really doesn't like hardware changes, I would format and start again with the PNP card already installed.

Funny thing is I did something similar with the PC in that original post, everything working fine, changed soundcard and broke windows. By this time I had a spare PCI card so just used that.

Thanks for your reply! Still I have not found suitable setup utility for my NIC 🙁 The good thing is that i managed to solve my problem doing some voodoo with CTCM resource manager! Now everything works fine 😀 😀 😀

When I was having trouble with a plug & play setup in the DOS / Win3.1 days, I found an ICU (ISA configuration utility) was the answer.
