I marvel at how much every good thing has deteriorated into what we see today.

One word - Amiga.
That was such an amazing computer truly ahead of its time. it is saddening that great things easily get overshadowed by inferior devices.

Indeed. You couldn't touch it for 99% of the time it was on the market, and the only reason there isn't one on every desktop right now is this great mistake they made in shipping Amigas without a chunky graphics adapter, which actually existed, but it wasn't like "here's your standard vga-powered PC that everybody else is getting, enjoy"
