Have you tried adjusting brightness/contrast settings upward in the OSD? Are you sure the output from the computer isn't potentially the problem?

Yep, tried adjusting Brightness and contrast but Nada. Contrast and brightness were up to 100 and still was pretty effin dim, forgot to mention it in the first post. Also I tried an older monitor (another CRT, smaller size) and the PC's output was fine.

EDIT:
Just unplugged the VGA cord and put it back in and it seems to have corrected itself. I'll "monitor" it (no pun intended) and well see how it goes

Also, while we're on the subject, my old Zenith Data systems amber phosphor monitor is very blurry. I effed with all the controls and it still looks like ass, and not the good kind. I cracked it open once but did not see anything that looked abnormal, that being said I never have repaired a monitor. I used it with my tandy 1000 EX with the Composite AV cable, as it has no CGA interface.

May be the connector/cable is the problem, or it just didn't have a good connection the first time. 😊 The technician in me says "wiggle the cable and see what happens" but there's another voice saying "if it works don't mess with it..." 🤣
