Ok so I JUST went back to redo a tutorial I host on my website for using DOSBox and VDMSound to play older games. I received an email saying my Master of Magic tutorial might need to be changed, because VDMSound won't allocate EMS. So I loaded up my laptop,,,with an older install of VMDSound... MOM plays fine. Loaded up my new computer with VDMsound's latest beta, and I've spent the past 4 hours tweaking to no avail. Even disabling all sound/music,,,it still needs 2700k of expanded memory to run. VDMSound is just not allocating it. I can't even get normal WinXP dos emulation to allocate it for some reason. Suprisingly enough I tried Dosbox (was never a big fan of it) And voilla.... it works...with sound...without all the crazy pausing...perfectly.

I am amazed.. and frustrated. I loved VDMSound...but how can I get it to allocate expanded memory? I triple checked all my settins in comparison with my laptop. I am sure they are correct. Any ideas? Maybe I am missing something simple. Thank you in advance.

My Strike Commander is unable to detect ems. Everytime i try to run it , i get the message "Protected mode driver is not responding to EMS function calls.
Make sure your EMS driver is not configured with the NOEMS option.
If it is, replace the option "NOEMS" with "RAM"." , despite the fact that i enabled ems in dosbox. I get the same problem in vdms as well as windows xps own dos emulator. Please help
