Hi, can anyone confirm if the Intel P3 SL6BY does not work with the Jetway 993AN mobo? I ask because i've just tried to install one in said mobo and it's not picking it up. However this could be because I may have been a bit over-zealous with the thermal paste, and the cooler was a bit of a bugger to fit back in again... So I might have damaged the CPU that way. But does anyone know if the two definitely aren't compatible with each other?

You need: a bios with tualatin support and probably a modded cpu or a tualatin compatibele cpu adapter.

I don't think it is plug and play with that board.

asus tx97-e, 233mmx, voodoo1, s3 virge ,sb16
asus p5a, k6-3+ @ 550mhz, voodoo2 12mb sli, gf2 gts, awe32
asus p3b-f, p3-700, voodoo3 3500TV agp, awe64
asus tusl2-c, p3-S 1,4ghz, voodoo5 5500, live!
asus a7n8x DL, barton cpu, 6800ultra, Voodoo3 pci, audigy1

Can you elaborate more? It's got a socket 370 at least and other users here have confirmed that the mobo works with Tuatalin. I'm using the latest bios for it (N11) that I could find too.

Jetway 993AN seems to use VIA 693A (VIA Apollo Pro133 - the manual only states VIA Apollo Pro which wouldn't even support FSB133).
For official Tualatin support you'd need VIA 694T (VIA Apollo Pro133T).
The manual also only mentions CPUs up to 1GHz and only FC-PGA, not FC-PGA2.
So, I agree with a modded CPU or an adapter.
Could you link to the posts that say a Tualatin would work?

It was in this thread: Re: Socket 370 Micro-ATX Mobo with AGP & ISA recommendations? Admittedly no-one said it wouldn't work, but then again they didn't say it would either 🙁 Maybe I jumped the gun a bit...

Can you recommend a motherboard that will support that CPU natively (without modding) and that has an ISA slot?

Actually if I read precisely what obobskivich wrote in Re: Socket 370 Micro-ATX Mobo with AGP & ISA recommendations? he stated that you don't have to pinmod a CPU for the Jetway board.
After I re-read that thread it doesn't seem you really need Tualatin performance, a Coppermine (not even top-of-the-line) should suffice. I don't know how much that would cost you, on German ebay those can be had for small change.

Regarding a different motherboard: GA-6VTXE for example (look at the recent thread).

Well i had a coppermine 1GHz Slot 1 CPU that i'm using now in the meantime with the jetway, but I would like to use the tualatin when I can. I'll keep a lookout for the GA-6VTXE 😀
