Is a CT1770 a good choice for an 286/10 ?

Currently my machine has got:

- Onboard EGA
- CT1350B with CMS Upgrade
- Midiquest MPU401i
- Bustek BT542
- EtherlinkIII

I have no slot free. If I change the Bustek with the Ct1770 with builtin SCSI-Controller and SB16
I can take out the CT1350b and built a VGA-Card in that machine.

- can I boot from SCSI on the CT1770 ?
- how compatible is the SB on the CT1770 according to the CT1350b I currently use?
- can I disable the Midiport of the CT1770 because I use the Midiquest with my MT32?
- please keep in mind that it is a 286 and not all software/driver/ctcu? runs on that machine.

So is it a good idea?

thx, I could have booted it, if I place a boot-rom in my etherlink-III ?
but I should perhaps go of an adapter 1570, but this requires an 386.

If the boot rom looks in the right address and can talk to the controller then yes. But i doubt if you can find a boot rom for this. Why don't you get a bootable ISA SCSI card? They have their own BIOS and will save you all that hassle

I already own one, but I want to put an VGA card in the 286/10 so another card must taken out, but I need every card, so the only way is to find combined cards with SCSI(Bootable) and e.g. a Soundcard on one PCD.
But I this should be very hard to find and if the card is meant for a 286 then it will rather unpossible.
