I was very pleased with myself when I picked up this sealed SB16 - in my experience this exact box contains a CT2290, which is a nice card. See the code in the top right corner of the box? SB-2291. But what I should have been looking at was a serial number on a little white sticker on the side of the box, the code on which started with '2910'. The CT2910 has the low power 'mobile' version of the OPL3, which I could probably live with, but it also has the hanging note bug, which the pedant in me could not.

Thanks for nothing Creative Labs!

Well they don't call it a "value" for nothing 😉
Still sad...

That sucks :\

It's astonishing thoug how much people that used these cards knew about them compared to most of their current users. They didn't even need to see the model number on a box because it would not tell them much...

Think of it this way, now you wont have such a desire to use it. and keep it just as a new shiny card
