I would accept repaired hardware with no issue, but would be hesitant for altered/enhanced modifications.
For example, changing capacitors, connectors, or potentiometers on a sound card, to me, are acceptable.

But an enhancement for someone, that makes the hardware work outside its original specs, can turn out to be a problem for someone else. It is okay if people want to do mods, but I wouldn't buy these items personally.

The more sound cards, the better.

I'd buy a nicely recapped DSP 4.05 Sound Blaster 16 if it makes it sound good.

I am pleased that the responses I got here are much more positive than originally expected. This proves that some people like to see some pimped up hw as well 😀
I wonder who will be the first one to pimp an audio card with the latest and best caps and op-amps. And mods like S/PDIF to XR385 are awesome modifications.

If someone makes a Pentium mmx where it can reach 400MHz and add 256kb L1 cache then I'm into it (it can be to super socket 7)

I'll not lie, I Always wanted a K6-III+, but they almost never exist on my country, and when exist, it cost like U$100!!!.
Idk if it was better to moved to a pentiu II since they're more easy to find 😖

Maybe someone could make a pci co processor for Pentium mmx guys 😁, I have 2 pci free slots if needeed :p (hm, is there any pci co processor?)
