Do you prefer Rivatuner over PowerStrip? I've never used it, but like to check it out.

It's useful for forcing different anti-aliasing modes. It lets you tweak a lot of NV functions.

It does have an annoying install process though. On first run it does some kind of database processing that takes a few minutes.

Ok here are results of testing of various cards on a KT333 w/ Athlon XP 2000+. Vsync disabled on all cards. Interesting results!

Well, given that the G400Max gets this close to a GF256DDR overall, it's not unreasonable that it would beat an SDR in some cases.
It looks like Game 2 does something that either doesn't let the GF256DDR benefit from its extra raw power, or something where the G400Max can use some magic feature to even the score that the GF256 does not have...?

Taking all the numbers in. I would say that having a G400, G400-MAX, V3-3000/3500, TNT2-Ultra is allmost a must.
Then combining one of the above card's with a V2-SLI, would make the best choice in any specific situation, when building eighter a SS7 or a Slot1 system from 400mhz up to just under something like 800 or 900mhz. As it seems that it all depends what type of mobo/cpu you have, wether one card is faster than the other. Can't go wrong having all 4 or 5 gfx cards in the collection.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

I wonder whether XP 2000+ is sufficient for default 3dmark 99 with those cards.

Some time ago i tested some cards on my p3 1400. It is probably because of the driver but i got a higher score for the v5 5500 agp: 800x600 11429 3dmarks but lower for the v3 3500 with 7486 3dmarks.

I used amigamerlin for both cards.

Funny thing is your geforce1 is beating my geforce2Ti score. I got only 9357 3dmarks with the p3. Geforce loves athlon xp?

asus tx97-e, 233mmx, voodoo1, s3 virge ,sb16
asus p5a, k6-3+ @ 550mhz, voodoo2 12mb sli, gf2 gts, awe32
asus p3b-f, p3-700, voodoo3 3500TV agp, awe64
asus tusl2-c, p3-S 1,4ghz, voodoo5 5500, live!
asus a7n8x DL, barton cpu, 6800ultra, Voodoo3 pci, audigy1

Putas is right that at 800x600x16 the CPU might be a limiter even with Athlon XP 2000+. P3 1400 is quite a bit slower so I'm sure the CPU is influencing the results there. I don't know what the Amigamerlin drivers might be doing.

The OS may have something to do with it?
I recall that 3DMark99 does not run very smoothly on Win2000+ at all, even on modern cards. On Win9x, it runs smoother. Probably has something to do with the fact that it uses such an old version of DirectX and the corresponding DDI, which has a lot of CPU overhead, and probably isn't very optimized in modern OSes/drivers.
