The fear is security concerns with Windows 10 could lead to a compromise of the entire Bittorrent network.

I don't even care about Windows anymore. Been dual booting 7 and openSUSE the past week and the majority of my time has been on SUSE. I am not worried about game compatibility, It's not like I play the latest and greatest PC games anyway. You can even get DOSBox on here!
Main: AMD FX 6300 six core 3.5ghz (OC 4ghz)
16gb DDR3, Nvidia Geforce GT740 4gb Gfx card, running Win7 Ultimate x64
Linux: AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 1.5GB DDR, Nvidia Quadro FX1700 running Debian Jessie 8.4.0

Of course, the binaries are always the fastest and cleanest way of getting anything. Then there is mIRC and DCC. Or simply have a second machine running XP / 2000 to get your stuff. These corporations seek to stop piracy at all costs, yet still offer day 1 DLC, no playable demo, use false advertising rampantly and unchecked and so on and so forth.

A Raspberry Pi with a cut-down OS is a better option (less noise, less power consumption).
I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...
Welp, I'm glad I didn't jump on the Win10 bandwagon then. Windows 7 just works and it still receives security updates, so why switch?
Or a router with OpenWRT... or executing your torrent client in compatibility mode so it will identify the OS as Windoes 7/8.
Three small irrelevant trackers that wants to pretend they're more important than they are... When it's perceived as negative about Windows 10, anything qualifies as news apparently.
