Its a pretty spectacular case 😀

I found it in a dumpster 13-14 years ago at the place I worked.

I had to carry that case with the really heavy dual redundancy AT PSU, 5 large fans and a full dual Pentium Pro system with lots of drives inside for about 600 meters through underground culverts and up some steep stairs to get to my car. I cant even understand how I managed to do it as only the empty case without the PSU is heavy enough to breake backs...

The thing is built like a tank, I have really manhandled it during the years but there is hardly a scratch on it. For many years the case was burried under a huge pile of rims and tyres in my cold storage and it was there I found the PSU last year.

The "motherboard cages" are really practical for testing stuff!

Ok. I bought an old tower from ebay. I just loved the case, didn't care what was in it. Well, I think I found some GOLD in there....

+Evergreen 486 to 586 upgrade CPU

+ATI 8514/Ultra MCA/ISA switchable graphics card with VGAWonder 2 ISA card

Photos to come soon. I've never heard of ATI's 8514/ULTRA card. Never knew you could have a video card with a switchable interface between MCA and ISA. Very cool graphics card! I'm not sure why its attached to the VGAWonder 2 card. Anyone know of this?

I've seen the 8514 Ultra with dual MCA/ISA buses before. I think most (or all) of them were like that. Pretty cool that it's even paired with a matching VGA Wonder. What's the VGA Wonder 2? Is that a Plus or XL model?

Basically the 8514/Ultra card is a stand alone graphics accelerator. You still need a card to provide the VGA functions.

I purchased an ATI VGA Wonder+ and works like a charm with the IBM 5151. I can run Hercules, CGA and EGA software now. The only issue is that 16 color modes don't look good, the green shades are similar and that makes the image look weird...
EDIT: It was a VGA16 game, so it was expected that it looked weird.

Not really bought, but rediscovered after being put in storage perhaps 15 years ago, then forgotten until now.

PII 266, Pentium Classic 133, K6-2 350, 286 8MHz & MediaGX 180, plus an assortment of 30pin & 72pin RAM. Functionality on all but the MediaGX is unknown. The MediaGX is definitely dead because it was a BGA chip forcefully liberated from its motherboard long ago by someone who was very annoyed at how crappy of a system it was...that someone being me. *cough* Of course now, the nostalgia bug recently made me go and buy another one of those exact systems. 🤣

Somewhere I also have a naked Slot 1 Celeron, but I currently cannot find it, and I don't recall what speed it was.

Yeeeaaahhh...not my proudest tech moment I'll admit. This was back before I was reborn when it comes to properly taking care of tech. 🤣 That and the system was already not working properly after getting struck by lightning once while my brother still had it. Onboard game controller and modem were dead. 😵

- A nice VLB S3 P86C805 (S3 805 with a never seen old S3 logo like three S and 3 ) with 1MB soldered and another 1MB mounted

- A nice QD6580W hard disk (2 IDE), floppy, game port serial and parallel VLB (? I thought was used only for vga) controller

- TI 486DLC-40AG upgrade processor

- Some L2 15/20ns and tag chips

- A network 386DX based coprocessor that seems to be identical to a 386

Was at a fleamarket today and bought 3 cards. Not exactly retro but couldn't pass it up:

4870 X2 10 euro
asus en5750 1 euro
creative audigy2 1 euro

All a bit of a gamble ofcourse but i like that.

Audigy2 works like a charm, victory!

4870x2 has issues (ofcourse). At first it had artifacts, after cleaning the contacts those were gone but it still locks up with any 3d (black screen). Candidate for the ''oven trick'' i guess...

The en5750 would not install drivers and for more than an hour i couldn't find the problem. Turns out it is an Nvidia card 😵 😵 😵 I was sure the 5750 is an Ati card...
Apparantly the pci express version of the fx5700 is called the 5750 by Asus, never knew that 🤣
I did think it was a small cooler for a hd5750 😊

It works but i have no use for it unfortunately, so it will be a test card for pci-e boards.

oh well, better luck next time.

I just won these, 31 Euro + 7 Euro shipping.

No more information than the images. But I see cache chips, flash chips, 30 pin SIMM modules and other nice stuff so with luck it will end up being a good buy.

I bet its an ESD protected blanket 😜

Its lucky memory modules isnt as sensitive as memory chips.

I hate how Asus names their videocards,don't know why they couldn't just write on a sticker on the card the model of the chipset.
Especially when u are at a flea market u find a card and then u have to acces the internet on your phone to try and find out what the hell is it.
