For me this seems like a lit!
The board is good and I especially like the K6-III non-plus (especially if it's a 2.2v variant and not the hotter 2.4v one 😜 ), but the rest doesn't seem very special to me.

It's good, but man..$70 is the going rate for this stuff now? 😮
Did the parts come with the boxes? 😜

I almost threw out an offer on that listing but went for a dual slot 1 instead!!

I think it was a pretty fair price. I know the P5A is generally considered one of the better SS7 boards, and IIRC, that revision supports the K6-3+ and 2+. If everything works and you're happy then it was a fine deal.

Lets do the math 😁

The motherboard is worth $20
The K6-3 400 non + is also worth $20
384MB memory is worth $5
A 6GB HDD is worth at least $10 if its working as HDDs smaller than 8.4GB is getting harder to find.
The ATI Rage IIC and the network card is worth... lets say $10.

Getting everything in a bundle and thus probably tested and working together is worth the last $5, the savings when it comes to shipping makes it a even better deal. In 5-10 years a working Super Socket-7 board will be as expensive as a working late 486 board is today, get them now while they are "cheap" 😉.

New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.
Older PC: K6-3+ 400@600MHz, PC-Chips M577, 256MB SDRAM, AWE64, Voodoo Banshee.

Not sure where you can get this motherboard for 20 dollars. I've looked around and can't find it for any less then 50.

With patience 😀

The prices on Ebay are higher most of the time but the numbers above are more in line with what you would get as a seller if you wanted things to sell fast. Perhaps the prices have spiked the last year, it has been some time since I looked for Super Socket 7 boards on Ebay.

With a video card as the Rage it depends though, there are $2 dollar ATI Rage cards and there are rather nice 8MB $15 ones. Its the same with a 3Com PCI 10/100 3Com card, the basic 3c905c without flash chip socket is not worth more than $3 but the 3C905B-Combo is worth... well not much but at least more. You will find lots of basic ATI Rage and 3Com 3c905c listed with $15 or $20 buyout but I do not think they will sell.

Luckily I got all this stuff when it was really cheap (the only thing that was hard to find was the K6-III and of all the places I happened to find it in a desktop computer on the curb I took along as I was going to work 🤣 )
The Super 7 boards I got really cheap (like €5 untested and some even for free), maybe I should test and sell all my P5A's 😁

I do realize the stuff will go up in price as it gets older, it's why I always bought stuff in bulk when it was cheapest. Things have changed though, in the old days I got all my computer parts from the streets for free and back then nobody cared about old computers...so totally different now, really unbelievable when I think about it.
