KKND install univbe no go

My system:
Windows 2000 service pack 4
Athlon 2100xp, 512MB ram, radeon 8100, soyo sy-k7v dragon plus! motherboard

Trying to install KKND by EA games with VDMsound version 2.0.4 of but gives me this message:
Do you wish to use UniVBE<tm> as your Vesa driver?

This will enhance game performance. If you experience any difficulty
please run the install program again and choose No.
Press [Y]es or [No]

Then I try to type in Y or N and I can't. I know it is not locked up because the cursor is still flashing. I try pressing all the keys and enter and nothing happens. I tried different settings on VDMsound nothing, tryed Win98 boot disk and I got past this screen, but would still not install. Tried DosBox nothing. Did search for UniVBE found it is some software by Scitech Software inc. downloaded it tried to run it using VDMsound said :
No supported VGA chip detected. Thanks for any help.

Hey,

this worked for me when i tried to install KK'n'D: make an .iso image off the CD and put this too your vrtual cd/dvd-drive, when u now drag the cd/dvd-drive-icon (from "my comp") onto the DosBox.exe. know it will start DosBox and mount the image troughout your Virtual CD/DVD-Drive and the keyboard-isseu is fixxed

however u can now enter Y or N for the driver-question it will crash with the message "no cd detected" and there is nothing i know off to solve that problem but i did post it.
( Dos version of KK'n'D on winXP PRO? )
