Virtual memory

Hi, I managed to get syndicate wars to work perfectly on xp with very little bother at all, but needed to use vdm to get the sound to work. This worked a treat for a couple of days, but now when I try to load it with the vdm shortcut, an xp balloon says
"no virtual memory left, windows is increasing the virtual memory file, requests for virtual memory may be refused during this process".
sometimes the game loads, other times it doesn't, I just get a black screen, and sometimes I get a dialog box from vdmsound saying it can't allocate memory.
Does anyone have any ideas? I mean I have plenty of RAM, and loads of free hard disk space.

Thanks

See this thread for what is happening with Windows XP, virtual memory and running Syndicate Wars...

You can add all the Virtual Memory to Windows XP that you wish, the DPMI server built into Windows XP will use it ALL as backing store for the DPMI memory requests of Syndicate Wars...

See this thread Syndicate Wars for more information on what is happening...

Hope this explains,
