I received this motherboard in a mixed lot about a year ago and am just now getting around to playing around with it. I have a lot of Socket 3 CPUs that I want to test on it. It has the SiS 85C497 chipset. It also has the VLB+PCI combo, which I haven't heard good things about, but is still kind of neat to have anyway. Does it look familiar to anyone? Most of the jumper settings are etched on the board, but I wouldn't mind finding some additional documentation. (I won't run that DX4 without a heatsink/fan BTW.) Thanks!

Are there perhaps any markings, serial or model numbers printed somewhere on the motherboard (including the back)?
What is printed on the side on the one ISA slot (which is also your VLB slot)?

PS: I wouldn't recommend running any DX4 without a heatsink and fan, unless you're not too worried about extended the life of the CPU.

Looks like it's a Green GXA486SPM. The diagram on page 4 of this PDF matches the layout of your board. http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/epox/ma … uals/486spm.pdf

Thank you! That is exactly the one. I replaced the DX4 with a standard DX-33 before firing it up because I didn't have a heatsink handy. Board seems to work just fine with an ATI Mach64 PCI.
