holy crap, i found what i was looking for when searching for something else entirely, what luck. i still do recommend some stickies for basics though.

when i say basics, i just mean common problems, or update on the faq page but as the site seems to be dead, ah well. just one last question which is probably retarded. in the tutorial it says "You then right-click the program and choose "Run with VDMS" to start the game and play. When you quit, you will find that VDMSound has created a shortcut for your startup program". for me it does not create a shortcut file. i checked the game i was trying to run's folder, the vdm folder, and the desktop, then did a search for .vlp just to be safe. this is how i'm directed to solve my problem, i have to change the properties of the shortcut pointing to the program. so is there any other way to create this shortcut, or another way to alter the settings of the game? i searched through the config file in the vdm folder but couldn't find the, i want to say dpmi options to change their properties.

ok sorry for all the dumb questions. i think my problem was with search in general, and now that i know how it works it's much easier.

Search for any terms or use query as entered means AND.
Search for all terms actually means OR for all your selections.

and AND, OR, NOT do not work which was my problem, but once you click on that wonderful "search for all terms" it works much better.

and anyone know how to get it to save/load on MOM? i tried a few things with no luck, but everything else is fine.
