How do I start a rom by clicking on the rom file and start the emulator right away?

How do I associate a file type with a program in Windows?
.smc for snes
.gen, .smd for gen+
But when I click on them, they didn't start automatically.
I have to open the emulator and choose the roms instead.

Hello Dom,
I found gen+ can open the rom with clicking, but it always starts out with full screen mode,
I want maximized window instead, I have unchecked the option -> start to full screen mode when load a rom
Anyways, gen+ 0.0961 doesn't work too well with the Direct3D option, it only works for GDI and DirectDraw.
I don't have Aero when using DirectDraw, I do have Aero when using GDI, when I can't start a rom straight off.
