1997 Ford Puma 1.7 VCT, she has 140,000 miles as of today, everyday driver, burns no oil or water and still goes like a rocket and handles like a scalpel. Best car I have ever owned, 125+ MPH, 40+ MPG and handling is better than it has any right to be, exceptional little car and looks lovely too:)

38 year old car! 😎

The Volvo 960 is the car I use for longer trips, the noise in the VAZ gets a bit irritating after a while. Its a perfect second car though as it dosnt cost anything when its not beeing used. The volvo 960 is 24 year old though so Im not sure it can be called a safe car by todays standards and as it has a tuned B204FT 16 valve turbo engine...

New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.

Small update here: My unit got replaced by one that looks like it's newer spec. The one that was in my car was the original one, dated late 2006 I believe. It was housed in a simple sheet-metal casing.
The new one looks like one big heatsink from the outside. Hopefully that also means it doesn't suffer from the reliability issues of the early models.
Best thing is: it was free of charge.

Hence, the benefit of a large 4 door sedan with a big trunk or "boot" as we call it here in South Africa (pronounced the same way as the ones you wear on your feet) 🤣

It actually has a big trunk if you keep the top up. About as large as the 4 door version. It fits two large-ish luggage trolleys and two smaller travel bags + a little room to spare for a backpack. Besides, me and my gf usually travel light. One large suitcase with our clothes, a small bag with bathroom stuff, and two small laptop bags. They all fit in the trunk with room to spare.

Last year we went for a seaside trip with my sister and her boyfriend - all of our luggage fit in the trunk except for a large backpack, and we could keep the top down as well. I never understood why people feel the need to carry half their house on trips. We take only what we need.

Another advantage of my 'vert is that I can carry oversize stuff if I take the top down and put the stuff on the back seat (sort of like a small pickup truck 😁 ). Among the oversize stuff I carried are:
- a fridge - took four people to pun in tough
- two sets of wheels (one 16" one 18" with tires on)
- a huge Minolta copy machine
- a 6 cylinder M54B30 engine (had to remove the back seat so It wouldn't get messed up - also put the engine in and removed the engine from the back seat using an engine crane)
- my modular corner desk (one large corner piece, two side pieces and 8 metal legs)

I had a -91 Sigma (V6 3.0) as a summer car. The faster you drove the better it felt. The optimal speed was around 120-130mph (200-210 kmh). Very nice and smooth ride.

It was a bargain too. I paid 450€ ($500) for the car and around 1000€ (work + parts) to fix/replace everything from belts to control arms and wheel hubs. The only reason I had to sell it was the availability of spares as the GTO is the only model with some interchangeable parts and both are pretty damn rare these days. I think the air compressor for the suspension (from Japan) alone was around 1400€. 😵 Luckily I had the standard version without too many bells and whistles. The fully equipped one (4WS, traction control etc.) was around 90.000€ new. 🤣

My current car, a 2000 BMW 540i. It has a 4.4L 282hp V8 with 325 ft/lbs routed though a 6-speed manual. Oh it's an absolute blast to drive. 😁

I drove something that looked like that once, but I remember it was called Mitsubishi jewel or diamond or something. 4WD, 6 cyl engine. It went great for such a heavy car but I remember the car felt pretty heavy and the brakes were less then stellar.

nice e39. Unfortunately in Romania tax on anything with displacement larger then 2499cm3 is ridiculous (compared to the average income anyway). For a 4L it would be about 1000 euro / year.

Two years ago, I actually had the opportunity to buy a 1994? E31 840Ci - realy cheap - about 3500 euro. Unfortunately the tax made me doubt the purchase and someone else snagged it. You know what the saddest part is? He totaled it a couple of months later 🙁 . Some people really don't deserve nice things 🙁 .

/\ Actually the "Morumbi" in the picture refers to the name of a district here in the city I live in (the state directly north of São Paulo - the state), not the large avenue/district in São Paulo city. I doubt the one in my city is nearly as fun as the one in São Paulo xD
