After switching to Windows 10 my old mouse has some weird problems, so I'm thinking about replacing it. It seems that Steelseries won't release (better) drivers for Windows 10, so I've got to decide between keeping the mouse (and the bugs) or buying a new one.
The problem with the mouse is that it only works after turning on the computer. I mean that if you reboot without going power down, the mouse doesn't initalize.
My problem is that I have big hands, so I'm very comfortable with big mouses. My old mouse is a Steelseries World of Warcraft® Cataclysm MMO Mouse. The other very comfortable mouse that I've had was a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. The main features I'm looking for:
- A big mouse, so I can rest my hand on it.
- Windows 10 and Linux compatible.
- Capable of working as a "dumb" or "pure" mouse (i.e.: it should work without installing any drivers, even if it means no working extra buttons).
It seems there are many gaming mouses that would fit (but strangely there are not "normal" mices that big), but I'd like some suggestions. I've seen some of them but I don't know if they would be good options:
- Tacens Mars Gaming MM2. Bigger than most mouses, it seems that it would fet. It's very cheap, so I'd like to know if they're durable.
- Keep Out X7 and X8. I don't know nothing about that brand. Are they good/reliable?
- Mouses from Netway. Netway seems to be a brand related to a local computer stores (PC Box), so I guess they're chinese mices rebranded. I don't know if they are being sold elsewhere, so maybe you haven't seen (nor will see) any of those mouses on your country. Can anybody say something (good or bad) about that brand?
- Logitech G700. Size OK. Price tag not OK. I can spend some money on the mouse, but most hardware from Logitech is overpriced (when compared to other brands).
Any other suggestions? I've been looking mouses on some local computer stores (so I can put my hand over them), so I haven't tested other (famous) brands like Razer or other Steelseries models.
Thanks.
