OK, I know that not many ppl like this game, but I do!

I have problems getting it work in Windows XP. I'll post the screenshot of the error message with this post.

Is this because I use DirectX8 (comes with WinXP) and the game wants to use DirectX2?

I'd really appreciate any help you could give me, as I recently found this excellent game at a sale, and I've been wanting to play it ever since my last Cyberstorm CD was broken...

Oh, nevermind. I just found a fix: One needs to go to Compability in the Properties tab of cstorm.exe and make sure that 256 colours is activated... Very disturbing...

Here's the fix from my NT Compatibility Game List:

FOR XP (Also works for 2K)

Upon running the game you will receive this error message: "GFXCDSSurface:: Failed to create a Surface". Read the following to fix it.
Install the Application Compatibility Toolkit on the XP CD under the Support Tools directory. ACT20.EXE
Use QfixApp on the game and click the "ForceDefaultSystemPaletteEntries" box.
Click the "Advanced" tab. Then click "Create fix support".
Then go to the AppPatch folder in the Windows folder and click on the .sdb
Now all you have to do is run the game and it will always run without having to do the above every time!
Reinstall this .sdb if you reinstall windows!

Well, that was easy.

God, I hate Windows XP's antialiasing. 9-12pt fonts (16 in the case of Times New Roman, don't ask me what that's about, heh) DO NOT NEED ANTI-ALIASING! ARRRGH! It reminds me of a monitor with really really REALLY bad convergence problems.

Yes, it’s my fault.
