Being an LGR supporter on Patreon, I got to see his latest video a bit early and it reminded me of something I'd seen before and I spent over an hour trying to find it again to no avail.

Here's what I remember about what I'm looking for:

* It was an engine demonstrator that wasn't meant to be released to the public, though eventually it was.
* It preceded a VERY well known 90s game, I'm not sure which though.
* It was in 3D and had colourful graphics.
* There were dialogue choices.
* There were switches you could toggle in the game world.

I don't remember the name at all, nor do I remember who made it. I want to say it's what came before System Shock while they were developing the engine for that game, but my attempts to search for such a thing have been unsuccessful, so I could be wrong about that.

Maybe something like Kens Labyrinth?

I've spoken with Ken Silverman a few times in the past by forum and by eMail so I would very much not be stumped by this search if it was that one or any of the things he made which came before it. ;)

However, the mish-mash of colours used in what I'm remembering do feel like the colours used in Ken's Labyrinth... but if memory serves, what I'm remembering also had ramped floors and ceilings, but I'm not certain on that point. I also believe it took place in an outdoor environment but had paths set up more like an indoor environment, despite not having boundary walls like you would have in something like a 2 1/2D game.

I actually have a copy on my most powerful Win98 system, but it's stuck in storage at the moment and I don't think I have it backed up anywhere else... I could check better... :P

Actually, one completed game which has a very similar look to what I'm remembering is Lemmings 3D, but I'm unsure if what I'm remembering came from Psygnosis or not...
