Has anyone looked at building an emulator which essentially functions like a Gotek ATAPI device? Certainly, 2x or 4x transfer rates would be within the capabilities of modest AVR or PIC controllers. Emulating a DVD-ROM would likely take some additional capability.
Thoughts, anyone?

You need an OS to run MagicISO/PowerISO. Zalman did a Virtual ODD on USB:

Well, GL1zdA is on the right track. The ones he links only support ISOs though based on a quick check, so if they can be handled via ISO then you're good.

CUE/BIN would be the most universal, I think. It would be a great match for GOG titles.
