"Quit unexpectedly" - Dark Forces or Dosbox?

Anyway, please use the SVN version of Dosbox I provide in my signature. Also Dark Forces needs a CD-Rom to run if I'm not mistaken. So there might be some mixup in mountings as you can't use the same Windows paths on OS X. We might need to see your mountings and how you launch the game.

It is the dark forces app through dosbox. I have some screen shots of the app. the crash message when i double click on it on my new mac. A screenshot how it mounts and still works on my old mac. And also included is the screen shot of the package contents.

Where does Dark Forces app come from?

got it from a friend about a year ago, doubt he would remember. But I find it odd how it still works on my old mac and not my new one.

Well, basically this is a pirated version. If you have the game you can easily run Dark Forces using Dosbox and not this wrapper.
The cause of the crash is probably that the dosbox version in this dark forces app is not compatible with newer OS X

I dragged the exe file right into dosbox and it started to work, but then I got the "no cd" error. I tried look at this thread (Re: How to get a game working on Dosbox mac WITHOUT a CD?) but to no avail. Any help

Drag'n'drop won't work with games that need a CD.
Anyway, it's still just a pirated version so I will close this thread now.
