Mine locks up at post at 3x40fsb. My board is an ACER AP43 and doesn't show the jumpers for voltage, just a group of jumpers to set for each cpu.

Is this a bad cpu or is there a way to get it stable at 120mhz?

Somehow figure out the voltage for the CPU. Cyrix needs around 3.6 to 3.8V to work nicely. 120Mhz should be doable but not guaranteed. My works fine on 4V and 120MHz, while at 133MHz it isn't stable.

mine works great at 3x40mhz at 3.3v but it's unstable at 2x66mhz. It posts and runs benchmarks but it's unstable in windows even at 4v. Its a rev 3 5x86-100gb with the green cyrix heatsink

The settings on this board are for 3.45v cpu's so voltage will be the problem then. Really can't figure out how to bump that without going straight to 5v.

Too bad, it is the only pci board i have but i will test it on a vlb board just to see if it does better on that one.

I have four cx5x86 chips (one IBM actually). As far as I recall all of them can do 120MHz stably, but it requires 3.6V.
I could not get any of my chips stable at 133MHz, neither at 2x66 nor 3x45.
