Hi folks. Just a quick build I did today that will end up being my main Windows 2000 gaming rig. I have a dual P3 700 that I've been using and will continue to use for glide games, but other than those games that system left me wanting a little more power.
As such, I pulled my Athlon MP board out of storage and went to work!
The build includes:
ASUS A7M266-D motherboard
2x Athlon MP 2800+ (2133 MHz)
2x 1GB Kingston DDR 333 ECC RAM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Deskstar 80Gb hard drive
Sound blaster 128 PCI
3com network card
In Win 703 case
Future plans:
I'm waiting on a black IDE DVD drive. That will replace the temporary beige cd drive that is in it.
Also need to do a little better cable management. Perhaps an atx extension cable? The power connectors on this board are all the way at the top which doesn't work too well with bottom-mounted power supplies.
Other than that I like how it turned out! The plans tonite include Morrowwind and Dungeon Siege 2!!
