After building my XP Retro PC with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz PCI for the purpose of playing GOG.com games, I tried X-Wing Collector's CD. The Santa Cruz has an 8MB MIDI DLS which I was curious to hear in action. After hearing the Star Wars theme from the X-Wing intro for the first time, I thought it sounded very good...perhaps better than the SBLive! So I recorded some samples, swapped the SBLive in and recorded samples from its 2MB and 8MB soundfonts (included with the sound card installation). Which do you prefer?
