THE NEW PHONEBOOK IS HERE!!! - THE NEW PHONEBOOK IS HERE!!!
No, actually just the Enermax EG465P-VE I mentioned earlier is actually here now.
Actually testing and reworking it will come later but I took a quick peek under the hood.
Looks like a good solid PSU that would be reliable with fresh caps.
As expected it will need recapped but none are actually bad yet.
No hard to find sizes of caps.
The fans are both ball-bearing type.
Soldering looks good.
And the big plus: It uses connectors so you don't have to desolder anything to remove the PCB to work on it.
Looks like a great "recapper" PSU for +5v heavy apps and very easy one to reacap.
These might not even need recapped immediately. Well cooled so caps last longer.
This one is an Enermax EG465P-VE but there is also a EG365P-VE that should be about the same.
At the moment these appear to be easy to find and not too expensive.
- Remember to READ the labels.
- The same model numbers are used for different ATX specs and their ratings are different.
Details of the caps.
The primaries are the horror of Fujhyyu but they are large (heat dissipation) 22x50mm and 1000uF 200v.
Primaries hardly ever blow so I'm not too worried about those despite they are Fujhyyu.
- I didn't not do any circuit tracing. The following are guesses by location.
All the rest (I can see) are JPCE and none are bloated, presumably because of the cooling.
[JPCE is aka PCE by some people, made by CEC-Coils. Common in older PSUs. They are a so-so brand.]
The main OP filter caps:
The 12v has a single 12.5mm 3300uF 16v JPCE-TUR
The 3.3v and 5v each have (1) 4700uF (12.5mm) and (1) 2200uF (10mm) JPCE-TUL
The +5vsb has a pair and the -5v & -12v one each 8mm JPCE-TUR
None of these will be hard to find replacements for.
