Hello everyone. This is my first post. I've been A DOSBox user since 2000, and never had to seek out help in making a game work on DOSBox until now. (Hopefully I never will have to again!)

I recently came across my CD-ROM to Strip Poker Professional CD-ROM Volume II (by Artworx), and decided to give it a go for the sake of preservation. (Though I'll confess to liking a naked lady as much as the next guy! 🤣 )

I immediately came across a problem when I tried installing the game in DOSBox v.0.74. However, this problem was immediately overcome when I manually created the destination folder with File Explorer, and the game apparently installed without any problems.

After installing, I proceeded to run the strip.bat file to start the game, but then the game unsuccessfully attempted to load a file called "sprogv2" (.exe), and sent me back to the C-prompt. So I looked at the game disc, and found the file the game tried to run, which I copied from the CD into the game folder, and then ran the game. After running strip.bat again, the CPU cycles jumped up to the max, the size of the DOSBox window increased, and I just got a black screen that never changed from there.

I've tried running the game by manually setting the CPU cycles to max, I've changed DOSBox to run in reduced color modes (both 8-bit and 16-bit), I've used two different core settings, I've also tried setting EMS and XMS to false, and if that's not enough, I tried making an .ISO out of the game disc, and mounted the .iso as both an image and as a CD, but nothing has worked so far. (Did I mention I also tried running this game with no sound?)

I know for a fact this game works on at least one version of DOSBox, because I gave the .ISO file to an abandonware website webmaster, and he uploaded it, complete with pictures that inferred he made it in-game... Though you think he would have helped me in exchange for my contribution!

Locked this topic for now. Reasons: we don't support abandonware. While the topic is about a real CD, I consider a post by "AbandonwareBrian" who provides abandonware, a slap in the face.
Please consider using another nickname here and don't mention your shady past 😉

(That said, it sounds like a problem with mountings)
