Been messing around with my new Socket 478 setup with:
Intel Pentium 4 HT 550 Socket 478 3.4Ghz (G1 stepping)
Thermaltake SI-120 heatsink w/Cooler Master 120mm fan
ASUS P8C800-E Deluxe motherboard
2x512MB OCZ EL PC-3200 Platinum Rev. 2 (2-2-2-5)
Club3D Radeon HD3850 512MB AGPI learned the hard way to limit AGP aperture size to 8MB, or else there is no more than 4bit graphics in Windows... Have just overclocked to 3.8ghz so far, but should go higher. It runs Crysis! I benched it avg fps of 26 with 1280x1024 and everything set to high details. F.E.A.R. flies on this machine!
That's rather odd, I never had that issue with a P4P800dlx and HD3850, although I did have it paired up with a Pentium M at that point. The P4 is a huge bottleneck for that Video card, even the Pentium M
was a bottleneck. I might hook mine up soon.
