Trying to Get Floppy Version of Sherlock Holmes to run in DosBox

I recently got an external floppy drive in the mail that I ordered from newegg. I'm trying to get the game The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel to run in Dosbox. I mount the external floppy drive as A: and I also mount the C drive. I can't install it. I get a message saying the disk is not formatted properly.

Are you mounting it as floppy? (-t floppy)

Can you see the contents of the floppy drive from Windows Explorer (not using DOSBox)?
Is the floppy showing up as A: in Windows or as some other driver letter?
