Hi!
I installed VDMSound on W2kPRO and if i try to run a game with it the game freeze at the sound output. I have an integrated AC97 soundchip and the games runs correctly if i turn off the sound, so the question is how can i play the games with sound??

Under W98SE the DOS games runs with sound until i exit, after i restart the game it says something that 'playback failed, ... conflicting DMA channel.'
So W98 not frees the DMA correctly if i exit? I can play again if i restart the system.
Can somebody tell some result? Thanks for the help!

Integrated sound sucks. Go buy a cheap PCI sound card.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Have you searched the forum? I think Redneck Rampage has been discussed before. 😎

If you do not plan on getting a pci sound card, you should try at least updating your sound drivers. I think they are the culprit.

If it's Windows 2000, you must must must must run CLI2NOP or it WILL FREEZE always!!! Egad! It's like every time there's a problem I have to spell it out for everyone because they're too lazy to use the search. ARGH.

Bad news is that I feel it won't be the last time either... 😁

I think the problem is that i have an integrated soundchip, i can't raise sound from it.The second problem is under Windows 2000 the games not runs correctly (the enemies rotating in their own position and i can't shot them,...)

Under W98SE the games runs correctly with sound, but later the sound is echoes. If i exit and i want restart or start another DOS game it says: Playback failed, possibly due an invalid or conflicting DMA channel.
I need to restart to play again "normally".
Can somebody tell some help for Windows 98SE?
