I would like to share some results i got with a Athlon X2 4200+ (not overclocked), a bunch of video cards from different generations and some old games and benchmarks. The motherboard was a ASRock Dual-VSTA (which supports both AGP and PCI-E) and 2GB of DDR1 in dual channel mode all under Windows XP. Bare in mind that this board is not a top performer, also i couldn't use the same driver among all video cards. For the Nvidia video cards below the FX series i used some variant of the 7x.xx nvidia drivers, and for the Geforce 6 and above i've used something from the 8x.xx nvidia drivers. For the AMD\ATI video cards i've used whatever was the latest in AMD's website.
Also, take notice that Painkiller oddly performs better in older video cards and sometimes worse on newer. I believe this is due to the fact that some video cards lack Direct X 8/9 pixel shader effects, making older cards perform better since they don't have to deal with these effects.
A last note, Unreal Tournament 99 was running with OpenGL renderer.
Well, enjoy 😁
