I'm having a bit of trouble using VDM Sound with XP sp2

When I play raptor with 2000 Pro there's no problem. When I play raptor with XP sp2 there's no problem until...

When I exit the game the screen turns black. The computer is still working in the background (disk activity, reaction on key strokes) but with a total black screen there's no other option than to turn the computer off.

Is there any known remedy?
