I have one inbound and am anticipating this. I'm not great at soldering but feel confident that I can do this but don't know how to go about speccing the caps or where I should buy them.

I know that most people use electrolyte capacitors but is it worth using solid ones?

Is it certain the card needs a recap? If it doesn't have any issues then there is no need to recap it since Roland used good caps. If you do need to recap then get some quality ones like panasonic/nichicon/rubycon/chemicon from a good vendor. There are a couple of bipolar caps IIRC on it so the replacements must be suitable for audio applications , the same applies to the ones on the output stages of the card. For the rest general purpose ones should be good.
I wouldn't bother with solid ones for the LAPC-I tbh, electrolytics are the way to go.

That's what I would do, maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in and give better advice.
