File open error

Dear Kind Sirs,

I have installed an old game, made from taiwan's GameBox. Here is a youtube video of someone else using dosbox and able to run the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX5yT3nGUrk

However for myself, I am experiencing an error message.

File open error!!
filename --> L:\music\game02.wav

My entire game is installed in C: I mounted in C: . My mount command is mount c c:\games

I checked my game folder and inside music, i have this file game02.wav

I dont know why am i linked to L:

Please help!

you need to install the game inside Dosbox. that is a reference to an old location the game was installed to.

Dear Dominus,

If install via DOSBOX, install would hang and most files are not installed in the folder. For example, when u open a folder, there would be nothing inside.

The way i install is: I copied everything from the cd to folder.

Is there any other solution?

Omg Omg,

Alright i solved it!

Yes u have to install in DOSBOX. The chinese characters in the installation panel is too small. Instead of asking me where to install? C:?

It is actually asking me what is my cd rom drive? My cd -rom drive is F: ... I have been keying in forever C:

My bad.

Next thing, this F:\music\game02.wav is actually from the CD. (PS, it is F: for me now since i keyed in F: during installation)

So, mount f f:\ -t cdrom

Viola, Game is running.

(You could have mounted your cd-rom as D but if it works don't touch it 😉)
