Ten bucks off a local site, and damn near mint condition. Couldn't resist.

I've never had a real HOTAS setup before, so this is really cool. Fired up some Descent (Rebirth) and it worked great, except that I have literally 20 years of muscle memory from playing with the same old keyboard+mouse/joystick config 😜 so there's a learning curve. Also tried it with the spectacular Slipstream GX public beta and it was everything I'd hoped for.

^^ Props if you recognise what map I was playing there, it's a rather famous one from the early days of modding. 😁

Anyone have some other game suggestions to use with this? (Preferably not "military" flight sims though.) It's USB so Mac/Linux/Playstation 2(???)/DOSbox unless there's a wrapper to get this thing working on real DOS (my DOS machine has USB ports.)

I've ordered this RTC, the Odin OEC12C887A. It will be delivered from HongKong.

Hope it will work fine on a socket7 board.

Its in lovely condition. Just awaiting a multi adaptor to arrive that can supply 14v. From the sellers photos it appears to have its original Dell Dos 6.21 and Windows 3.1 build intact 😀

They are known as Ascentia 700N in Europe, Bravo NB in the US.
They come with 4MB of RAM onboard and two expansion slots, for either 2*2MB or 2*8MB sticks for a total of 8 or 20MB, finding the 2*8MB kit is tricky (or expensive).
Video chipset is a C&T65530, there's a vesa530.com tsr that works with it, in the video drivers floppy disk:

Personally you're better off spending a little extra money for a brand new Dallas DS12C788A (compatible with Odin), directly from Maxim Integrated, or from Digi-Key.

Indeed.
I wonder how many of these have been flowing in the wild, especially branded by 3dfx. As far as I've googled, this one is the only pictured and documented on the forums.

Mail forwarding services. I've been using Shipito for quite a bit already without any issues at all.

Wait, I don't get it. The thing uses nvidia GPUs but is branded 3dfx?

Exactly.
Long story short, an STB subsidiary (namely Specialized Technology Group, hereinafter STG) designed the card, at the moment of 3dfx & STB merger it was ready. Thanks to some unknown reason (due to complexity of the board, I guess) 3dfx decided not to replace the already embedded Riva's for its own chips (Banshee or V3) and leave it as it was, just putting a 3dfx copyright. However, on the back sticker it is already labelled as Enseo - the name of STG after it would have been split from 3dfx (as 3dfx itself seemed not so interested in such workstation graphics):
s-l1600.jpg
So, it's a great example of a mess that fast corporate M&A's can produce: a product designed by one company (STB) is branded/silkscreened by another company (3dfx) despite its using the chips made by the main rival company (NVIDIA) and finally all of the materials refer to the result by the name of another company (Enseo, formerly known as STG - a part of STB before the merger with 3dfx) who spinned off shortly after the production of the product.
Another cute picture to illustrate all this sh*t 😀

That's kinda like nvidia making a card with VSA100 chips and calling it FireGL. 😀

I take it it can only render on one Riva128 CPU at a time, while the others are used for multi-display functionality correct?
