Hi guys. I'm trying to get a K6-2+ to run on my PA-2013 to no avail. The board posts, and the CPU is ID'd as a K6 at 66MHz??? but it refuses to boot. It hangs just after counting memory. I updated the BIOS to the latest version found on the FIC FTP site, but it still won't ID the CPU correctly or boot.

Here's the BIOS I used:

Could someone with bios modding please have a look and tell me if it supports the K6-2+? Thanks!

[SOLVED]

Ok I figured it out. Only the ji4333 beta bios supports "+" CPUs. It also supports large hard drives. It's kind of hard to find so I'll post a copy of it here:

FIC PA-2013 2.0 K6-2+ / K6-3+ and large HDD JI4333 beta bios:

Your first starting point for K6-2+ / K6-III+ should be Jan Steunebrink's page.

Yes, he has the beta BIOS linked.

Thanks for the link - saved for future reference. The bios I posted above works fine with the K6-2+ - unfortunately the boards's L2 cache is bad - luckily the K6-2+ has 128kb of L2 on die 😁
