Hello,

I emulated an old software for the acquisition of an old test device in DOSBOX on my computer with DOSBOX http://www.dosbox.com/ . It should be replace an old computer at end of life. It works fine. And now, I would like buy an adaptator for the IEEE 488.1 port to usb of the test device. How could I configure the DOSBOX for working with the adaptator, if it's possible ?
Can you me explain how configure the application to communicate with the IEEE interface ? Is a configuration from the autoexec.bat or dosbox.conf for exemple ?

Thank you for your answer

It is not possible and there is nothing you can do to autoexec.bat or dosbox.conf that can change that. You would have to start changing the DOSBox source code in order for DOSBox to start communicating with the USB driver used by the adapter. This is not trivial and there have been no reports of anyone already trying to do this.

You should consider rewriting your old software for use in Windows.

@celine, please follow some simple guidelines when posting:
- don't necropost (replying to very old topics, in this case the topic was more than four years old)
- don't hijack a thread with your own problem that might have only a slight connection to the original topic if at all
- please don't double post (posting the same in different threads)
- please post topics in the right subfotums (e.g. problems with DOSBox need to go into the DOSBox forums)

I fixed all this so far.
