I never bothered using the slot type adapters; AFAIK the cards are non-hot-pluggable, so having access to them is more or less irrelevant to me. I can see how they would be useful if you were to do a lot of testing of different configurations with shutting down the computer between each test - but when I do that, I just keep the case open. 😀

Sounds like you got some shoddily assembled ones though. Guess you could still take the brackets out and use them internally.

they're for vacant slots. But you can just remove the back pane adapter and mount them on the board itself instead

well yeah.. ide has never been hot pluggable , the point is to make a cheapo solid state drive

Some pictures of the issue. It seems they just stuffed up when designing them. Annoying, not about the money, they don't cost much, but because they basically can't be used 😵

The SD adapter is wonky. Not much else to say about it. 😒
But on the rack, you have space to put it where it won't interfere.

Just use it in a slot cover where there is no slot, or maybe it's made to fit where an ISA slot is?

bend the screw tabs on the adapters diagonally so they clear the slots , easy peasy fix
