could someone who has some experience with the original IT let us know how to get the sound running smoothly? At the moment I get alot of distortion as well as a general slowing down of the tempo in each track...
please. 😵

In the Performance Tab of a VDMSound shortcut adjust the "Try to Reduce CPU usage", "Cap DOS Timer frequency", and DMA servicing.

You may also need to change the buffers in the shortcut.

It really depends on the computer as to what settings you use.

sorry, I'm relatively new to computers. I can't find any VMDsound shortcut or performance tab, I've only tried opening the 'DOSDRV.exe' file... not sure what that accomplishes though.
I openly welcome any further help to my situation... 😒

lashes - If you create a simple BAT-file (e.g. it.bat) with the command(s) to run Impulse Tracker, and then do a Right-Click on the BAT-file, do you then see a "♫ Run with VDMS" menu?

It is really simple. Create a file, e.g. launch.bat with Notepad and insert the commands to launch your Impulse Tracker program.

Next, if you right-click on the BAT-file, and if you have VDMSound installed correctly, you should see an ♫ Run with VDMS entry.

If not, then we need to work on your VDMSound install.
