Hi 😀
I've run into a problem with my current retro build. I really like standby modes, as it means I do not have to manually configure stuff when starting Windows 98 everytime (worth the electric cost for me) but with my current windows 98se build which uses a Microsoft Wireless 5000 mouse standby is not achieved as the mouse wakes it up immediately after entering S3. It seems to be common with this mouse. (it's a bit ironic that MS can't build a mouse that cohere with standards). This can be replicated all the way up to Windows 10 with this product.
In windows xp and later we have the option to disable this if it is not working as it should.

However, at least gui wise this does not exist on Windows 98, and at least not on mine. I've tried to replicate the registry key that this change from a Windows XP VM on the mouse HID in the registry on my Windows 98SE but it does not seem to work. ACPI I enabled in bios and in the OS. APM is also enabled, but the sub options disabled for Windows to control the settings. This works perfectely, as long as I do not have this specific mouse connected. Someone have any idea how to solve this? 😀
Also, thanks for this awesome forum and community, it's really a great place to be on.
