I've got an ASUS P4PE motherboard with an onboard raid controller. I can't get it to detect a disk at all or give any sign that it's working. When I go into the BIOS I don't even see the option to enable or disable it.

Sometimes raid controllers have their own BIOS. Look for another cue to enter in a key combination on boot. It's also common to need drivers when installing the OS in order to use the RAID controller, so you might need those.

I checked, supposedly it's Ctrl-F. What's odd though is it's missing from the PCI configuration section of the bios. It's like the BIOS is wrong fro this motherboard. I'm gonna try reflashing it. Hopefully that works. I would assume if it's a bad chip I would get some sort of error.

I don't have a spare working floppy drive and can't figure out how to get aflash to run off a cd. So, I guess, i'll just ignore the issue for now and use the regular onboard IDE.

If you boot into Linux (from a CD, say) and run lspci or lshw, can you see the RAID controller on the PCI bus?

Alas, I'm down to emulation.

Then it's *probably* farkled, yeah. Try the reflash, just in case, but it sounds toasty.

Dug out a floppy drive that ended up working and used the built in EZ-flash utility. No luck. I was really hoping to get it working so I could have my ODDs, HDD, and LS-120 on separate channels. I've got a spare PCI raid controller I might use, but I'm not too sure of how stable that will be for using as my boot drive.
