On a few of my old systems the ISA slots are quite difficult to insert/remove.

Does anyone "lubricate" their ISA slots? I'm concerned that it's REALLY flexing some of the motherboards/cards.

Well, there are contact lubricants you could try, just make sure it's not aggressive against plastics or PCB laminate. They work wonders in power applications, but never used anything like that in a computer. Use it extremely sparsely if you do.

The only obvious disadvantage I can see is that it might trap dust etc.

May just need cleaned well. I'll dig up some contact cleaner and try that first.

Yeah, that's a good first step. A thin lint free cloth wrapped around the edge of a credit card works well to clean female ISA connectors 😀

Yeaaaa.... Right.... Speaking of virgin slots!!!
There is nothing wrong, they are just not used that much, since they are so firm.

Don't know... Yet, here is a tip regarding lubricates.
If it is silicone based, then it can be used to silence hinges on doors and things like that.
And if you ask me, then it sounds too risky to use silicone based stuff for sex.
