I've been making a list of PC (DOS/Linux/Windows) remakes of the old 8-bit 1980s game Head Over Heels. So far I've found five, all for Windows or Linux:

Head Over Heels 2 (2003) by Jorge Rodríguez (Grupo Helmántika) for Windows and Linux. Development was abandoned and only a beta was released. The project was eventually completed as Head Over Heels (2009). The website was here while the beta was available here. I managed to get hold of it via the Wayback Machine here

Head Over Heels (2003) by Tomaz Kac (Retrospec) for Windows, Linux, Macintosh and BeOS. Available from the website here

Head Over Heels (2003) by Syoxy Mar for Windows. The website used to be here. I managed to get hold of a copy of the game here

Head Over Heels Clone (2007) by Hugo Gil for Windows. No website for this could be found. The game was formerly available from here. It can be got from the Wayback Machine here. Does anyone know how to run this full screen?

Head Over Heels (2009) by Jorge Rodriguez for Windows and Linux. This is the same author responsible for Head Over Heels 2 (2003). The game can be got from the website here

Does anyone know of any more? All of these are for Windows or Linux. Was the game ever remade for DOS?

Head over heels seemed like the hardest game in the world to my younger self when the tape finally managed to load on my CPC464.

I took Jorge’s version from 2009 and I am developing it further https://github.com/dougmencken/HeadOverHeels since 2016

And I don’t have any Windows® computer, thus you need to build it yourself

sweet. I remember the first time I managed to connect the two characters on the C64 version...
